A practical guide to installing, using, and understanding Blue Gull AQI.

Install a pre-release build

Open the GitHub Releases page.
Choose the most recent pre-release and download its macOS build.
Follow the instructions included with that release. Pre-release builds may require additional macOS confirmation.

Use the menu bar

Blue Gull AQI is designed around a simple idea: your current AQI should be visible from the menu bar without a separate search or dashboard. Select the menu-bar item for more context and available controls.

Settings and data

Available settings, data-source behavior, refresh timing, and cached-data behavior may change while the app is in pre-release. This page will be updated as those behaviors settle.

Troubleshooting

Confirm that the Mac has an internet connection.
Quit and reopen Blue Gull AQI if the menu-bar item stops updating.
Check the release notes for known changes.
